Crewing company Gallowglass is celebrating its 20th anniversary this September.

Established in 1996, brothers Paul and Nick Grecian pulled together a small team of players from the London Scottish Rugby Club, with the purpose of providing complete crewing support services for corporate events, exhibitions, festivals and official ceremonies.

“The range of structures that we have built for corporate events is astonishing: from a wooden deck covering 11,000sqm of exhibition floor at Barcelona’s International Convention Centre, to a 400 cubic metre dome housing a pop-up exhibition for the Mexico Tourism Board,” said Nick Grecian, group managing director.

Since the company started, a series of independent companies have been added to the Gallowglass stable, with Gallowglass Global Event Services as the most recent addition.

Highlights have included supporting London 2012, including the Games’ Opening and Closing Ceremonies; crewing the G8 and G20 Global Summits, and assisting the events surrounding the final flight of Concorde.
