University of London’s Senate House will host an abseil on Saturday June 8 to benefit St Mungo’s.

Run by Over the Edge Adventures, the event will give participants the chance to be the first to drop down the outside of the 209ft building in its 75-year history.

St Mungo’s, a charity for the homeless, has staged similar fundraisers at Guy’s Hospital Tower and Earls Court Exhibition Centre.

There are 100 spaces available, priced at £30 per person or £20 per person for teams of five people or more. The aim is to generate £13,000 and abseilers are asked to raise a minimum of £95 each.

“This will be the first time an abseil has ever been staged at the Senate House tower and it will be a great opportunity for companies looking for a challenging team-building activity,” Charlie Vernon, business development manager at Senate House, said.

“We are very proud to take part in raising funds for St Mungo’s vital work, and we have high hopes of reaching the target on the day.”
