Emma Chilton, event manager at ACC Liverpool, has been elected as the inaugural chair for the Event Manager Working Group.

The working group is the Association of Event Venues’ (AEV) tenth such group. Members met at ACC Liverpool last week to ratify the group’s terms of reference in addition to electing Chilton.

“To have the confidence of your peers is immensely pleasing,” Chilton said. “[It’s] a great opportunity for my personal development and one which means I can contribute greatly into an industry that I am passionate and committed to.”

The Event Manager Working Group aims to capture and define members’ wants and needs with the event management sector, to encourage best practice, and to tackle common issues and concerns.

The group currently has a 30-strong membership of event managers from 15 venues.
