AMG’s O2 Academy Islington celebrates a decade of live music in August with the return of US punk rockers Alkaline Trio, the first band to play the venue.

Established as a mouthpiece for ‘the downtrodden, the dispossessed, the ill-at-ease’, Alkaline Trio released their 10th album, My Shame Is True, in April ahead of tour that will take in the likes of Reading and Leeds festivals and one exclusive birthday bash in Islington.

“It is always an honour to play London. To have been at the beginning of an era with O2 Academy Islington was AMAZING. I remember that show being extra special and playing again for their 10th Anniversary is something we’re extremely proud to be a part of,” singer/guitarist, Matt Skiba, said.
