Access All AreasBanqueting House, part of the Historic Royal Palaces charity, hosted British designer Giles Deacon’s SS16 fashion show earlier this week (21 September) as part of London Fashion Week.
Around 331 guests attended the show, with the front row occupied by celebrities including Jerry Hall, Patsy Kensit, Daisy Lowe, Millie Mackintosh and Abbey Clancey.
Deacon’s SS16 collection was inspired by the history of Banqueting House, with his 18-century inspired clothing modeled by Poppy Delevigne, Georgia May Jagger, Irina Shayk and Eva Herzigova. The oval catwalk mirrored the central panel of the building’s Rubens ceiling, ‘The apotheosis of King James I’.
“This is the second year I have worked in conjunction with Historic Royal Palaces and I was thrilled to showcase my SS16 collection in the historical setting of Banqueting House,” Deacon said. “The fabulous architecture of the venue was a key inspiration for me in designing the collection.”

The grandeur and versatility of Banqueting House made it the perfect setting to accommodate all of the show’s requirements.”
Banqueting House is currently undergoing major external and internal renovation works to restore the building.
