Bliss Events produced a green-soaked spectacular for this year’s St Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival in London.

Trafalgar Square played host to 72,000 revellers, with a further 53,000 lining the parade route.

“We started at 12 noon and had to close the square at 1 pm, moving to one in, one out much earlier than usual,” said Bliss Events’ director Anne McLellan. “In five years of doing this, I’ve never known anything like it.”

A headline performance of Riverdance kept the festivities suitably Irish, while the cast from The Commitments performed later on the Trafalgar Square stage.

Star Events provided the 13 metre stage, which stood in front of Nelson’s Column.
