The stars were out last night (19 February) at the O2 in London as the UK music industry celebrated at the Brit Awards.
The Arctic Monkeys opened the show behind a burning effigy of their album title “AM”.
Best Male Solo Artist David Bowie proved he could steal the show without even being there. Bowie chose to send Kate Moss up the black catwalk to collect his award rather than cut short his stay in New York.
Prince interrupted his string of secret gigs across London to present the British Female Solo Artist award to Ellie Goulding. Gasping “Prince!” as she claimed her award, Goulding said she was shaking and hadn’t expected to win. There were no sign of her nerves, however, when she took to the stage later to perform her hit single “Burn”.
But the performance of the night undoubtedly goes to Beyonce, who wore a floor-length green dress, singing her hit “XO”.
