Cardiff has been celebrating the life and works of author Roald Dahl, who was born in the city in 1916, with a series of special events.

A giant peach was paraded through the city in front of a crowd of more than 35,000 on 17 September, along with a colourful cast of characters taken from the pages of Dahl’s most famous works.

The celebrations were named the City of the Unexpected and presented by Wales Millennium Centre and National Theatre Wales.
