Event industry AV and IT hire firm DB Systems has extended its digital video and mounting equipment range, investing more than £100,000 in cameras.

In order to fulfil a growing demand for networked CCTV solutions, the firm has bought ‘best-in-class’ Samsung Pan-Tilt-Zoom cameras, which offer “excellent visibility and manoeuvrability and are both easy to set up and to use”.

DB Systems successfully used the new equipment for the first time at SPE Offshore Europe (OE) held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) on 8-11 September.

DB System’s Oliver Richardson said: “We’ve been supplying secure networks to operate CCTV cameras for years so supplying and installing the actual camera equipment was a natural next step.

“Offshore Europe, at which we already supply the connectivity infrastructure, has been a real success and we’re looking forward to the next CCTV project.”

The firm installed a complete CCTV network of 12 cameras and a control-room dashboard which also integrated the output of 4 in-house cameras.

Ben Gleeson, group operations manager for Reed Exhibitions, organiser of OE said: “We were really pleased with the CCTV DB Systems installed and were particularly impressed by the mobile capabilities which meant we could monitor any part of the site at any time from any location.

“This improved the efficiency of our teams and saved vital time across the large site. The system was incredibly straight-forward and user-friendly yet has all the trimmings that we need to be able to monitor the site as efficiently as possible.”
