Filmmaster Events, the company in charge of producing the Rio 2016 Olympic Ceremonies, has signed a contract to renovate the Geneva Aquarium events space.

Under the artistic direction of Alfredo Accatino, Filmmaster created the renovation concept for the venue – Europe’s largest aquarium – with an aim of creating a format based on experiencing and entertaining.

New interactive installations were added to the aquarium, with the sound and light design and scenography reorganized, as well as the tanks renamed. In the first room seen by visitors, Sala Blu, Filmmaster installed video mapping showing the entire itinerary. Other installations were added at the Eels tank, the Penguins Area and the Jellyfish tank. Interactive bespoke stations were also installed.

Additionally, Filmmaster developed a new aquarium app that is due to be launched during the venue’s anniversary celebrations this summer.
