Major acquisitions in the UK festival marketplace are continuing apace.

After last week’s announcement of Live Nation’s Isle of Wight Festival acquisition, Global has also expanded its festival portfolio, buying majority stakes in Victorious Festival and Hideout.

Now the second-largest festival operator in the UK, Global’s portfolio includes Snowbombing, Festival No. 6, the Rewind Festivals, Boardmasters, South West Four, Field Day, Y Not, Transition, Electric Elephant, and the newly acquired Victorious and Hideout.

“We are excited to welcome Victorious and Hideout Festival to the family,” said Ian Hanson, COO at Global.

Victorious Festival attracts 100,000 visitors across the August Bank Holiday Weekend in Portsmouth annually, with this year’s acts including Stereophonics, Madness, Franz Ferdinand and Elbow. But the European electronic festival Hideout takes place in Croatia. This year’s line-up features Stormzy, Diplo, Jamie Jones and Major Lazer.

“Each of them is a renowned music festival with a strong and loyal following and we look forward to working with the festivals’ management teams to grow them to the next level. We are continuing to grow our portfolio with more to come,” Hanson added.
