Mobile event app building and publishing platform, Guidebook, has launched ‘GuideTalks’ workshop series to the industry, with the first being held on 24 March.

The workshops will be case-study led, providing practical forums for event planners to discuss and learn about event apps, with each session focusing on a specific set of topics or issues.

Wayne Morris, general manager of EMEA at Guidebook, said: “There are a few values that we hold particularly close to our hearts at Guidebook: Demystification of event technology, transparency at all levels and empowerment of event professionals.

“With these workshops we will be continuing our commitment to these values by inviting event planners to a no nonsense session where they’ll learn exactly what apps can do for them and how they go about creating one, without the unnecessary illusion of complication that seems to accompany many technological solutions.”

The first workshop will take place on 24 March, at The Trafalgar Hotel in London. Laura Wall, head of events at Econsultancy, will share her experience of creating an event app for the very first time at Centaur’s flagship digital marketing event The Festival of Marketing.

Guidebook’s product specialist Isabel Yap will be running a guided tutorial on building event apps, culminating in all attendees building and publishing their very own app.
