Hawthorn has won the contract for New Order’s European tour, which kicks off in Paris tomorrow (4 November).

The contract will see the technical production supplier provide lighting and video equipment across the entire tour. The win comes after a successful year touring with artists including Mark Knopfler, Squeeze, The Charlatans, Steven Wilson and Status Quo.

Hawthorn’s Concert Touring division will draw upon its range of hire equipment, including Martin MAC Viper Profile and Wash DX, Clay Paky Sharpy, Clay Paky Stormy and Robe BMFL fixtures, as well as video elements such as Glux 10mm LED panels. The company is also providing rigging and drapes.

“New Order are a legendary band, so to have the opportunity to once again work with them is a huge privilege,” said Mick Freer, concert touring manager at Hawthorn. “There’s a real buzz about this tour, and we can’t wait to get our kit and people out on the road with the band and be part of delivering the incredible live show they’re renowned for.”

He continued: “It’s great to see growth in the number of concert tours we’re working on, and we’re looking forward to building on this year’s success and bolstering this area of our business. We have the experience, expertise and crucially, the latest in lighting, video, sound and staging technologies to provide a wide range of support for live performance, whether it’s for series of intimate acoustic gigs or an arena tour. Production managers and lighting designers in particular have recognised our ability to support them and invest in the technology to deliver the visual elements of the design. Consequently, this has resulted in interest from an array of new clients.”
