Holotronica has announced the launch of Holo-Gauze, a new 3D display solution that the company hopes will revolutionise the 3D projection market.

Holo-Gauze is the brainchild of audio-visual artist and composer Stuart Warren-Hill. The product uses a metallic transparent gauze, designed to generate 3D polarised projection systems – as well as 2D hologram effects.

“It is often said that the best inventions are born out of necessity,” Warren-Hill said. “I’d looked at other solutions, but they were too expensive and trickier to tour and to install.”

Several pre-launch ‘beta’ projects have showcased Holo-Gauze, including a hologram android that responded to tweets during the promotion of US TV show Almost Human, as well as 3D effects fro the 2014 Ibiza residences of DJs Hed Kandi and Chase & Status.
