Event floorcovering and furniture specialist JMT has announced a £450K investment in new vehicles. The newly delivered trucks and vans, the largest of which can carry over eleven hundred ‘Memphis’ chairs in one load, will increase JMT’s overall transport capacity.

Ian Rawlinson, managing director, JMT UK, commented: “This sizeable investment greatly expands our speed and capacity to deploy furniture and floorcoverings to events in the UK and across Europe. Irrespective of the scale of the event we can bring the stock from any one of our seven operations across Europe to bear, quickly and easily. We’ve also equipped every truck with a handling system, allowing us to offer organisers a scalable, comprehensive service from delivery and setup to removal and return.”

Ranging in size from long wheelbase vans to articulated lorries, all the new vehicles meet or exceed the Euro VI and Euro 6 emissions regulations, giving JMT the ability to reach any event venue in Europe, whether it’s within the London Ultra Low Emission Zone or at the end of a narrow medieval street. The new fleet vehicles form part of JMT’s pan-European delivery network, enabling the company to provide furniture and floorcoverings to the largest events on the continent.

“With our pan-European network of operations and logistics we can support an organiser managing an event in one country whilst supplying the event from the closest JMT unit. This significantly reduces the carbon footprint of transporting furniture to the event. Conversely, if required we can use our stocks and transport to deliver significant volumes of furniture and floorcoverings to support even the largest single event,” concluded Rawlinson

When the final vehicle and trailers arrive in June, the fleet will include 40 ton articulated lorries with two box trailers, four additional rigid trucks ranging in size from 18 ton to 7.5 ton, 2 Luton box vans and a LWB van.

All of the vehicles are liveried in the new group branding that was implemented in 2017 and that provides a consistent corporate identity across all seven operations.
