WOW – Women of the World festival, organised by London Southbank Centre’s in-house events team, has revealed its line-up of speakers and performers for this year’s event.

Held on 5-9 March, Katie Price, Malala Yousafzai, and Vivienne Westwood are among the 300 speakers and performers from around the world who will take part in more than 120 events at Southbank Centre’s annual festival to mark International Women’s Day (8 March). 

Now in its fourth year, WOW celebrates the achievements of women and girls and looks at the most potent topics for women today. 

WOW 2014 will again focus on a broad and diverse spectrum of topical women’s subjects through a mix of talks and debates, keynotes, concerts, performances, film, comedy, workshops, WOW bites, how-tos, speed mentoring and networking opportunities. 

Other speakers and performers include Ruby Wax, who will perform extracts of her new show Sane New World; economist Vicky Pryce will discuss being behind bars and her book Prisonomics; while the Lord Mayor of the City of London, Fiona Woolf, will lead a session on the power of diversity.

Jude Kelly, artistic director at the Southbank Centre, said: “I founded WOW – Women of the World festival four years ago to ensure there was a high-profile cultural place where hundreds of women’s stories could be shared, feelings vented, fun had, minds influenced and hearts expanded. 

“WOW is now one of the largest women’s festivals in the world and will keep growing, with festivals starting up around the UK and spreading to more and more countries.”
