The BRIT Awards with Mastercard have confirmed that Madonna will perform at this year’s event (The O2, 25 February), twenty years since she last performed at the event.

Following rumours and speculation, The BRIT Awards with MasterCard confirmed the star, whose performance will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the night. She will be playing a of her thirteenth studio album ‘Rebel Heart’ which is released on 9 March through Universal Music.

BRITs chairman Max Lousada said: “We’re delighted to bring Madonna back to the BRITS. She’s an icon, an innovator and, above all, an entertainer. Having her as part of the show will guarantee an unforgettable night of music.”

Madonna has a rich history with the BRITS, with twelve nominations in total and two wins in 2001 and 2006, both for Best International Female, and a performance in 1995 of her Top 5 single ‘Bedtime Stories’ – one of the BRITs most memorable performances in its 35-year history.

With over 30million albums sold worldwide, Madonna is a true music visionary and this BRITs moment is sure to be one to remember.

Also confirmed to perform on the show are Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Paloma Faith, George Ezra, Royal Blood and Take That.

The BRIT Awards 2015 will be held at The O2 in London on Wednesday 25 February and will be broadcast live on ITV.
