MUTA, the marquee and temporary structures trade association, is promoting increased safety standards within its industry.

The assocation is urging members to carry MUTA Skills Cards. The cards show a carrier’s knowledge of temporary structures, their training and qualifications, their driving license and trailer towing permits.

Members recently received letters from MUTA encouraging them to apply for the cards, which help fulfill competency requirements of the Institute of Structural Engineers and the Health and Safety Executive.

“We’ve had a great response from MUTA members interested in receiving or updating Skills Cards,” said Jon Parr, the association’s newly elected president. “As MUTA launches its ‘Use a MUTA member’ campaign, MUTA Skills Cards enable our members to show clients that they are legitimate members of the association, adhering to the highest safety standards.”

MUTA Skills Card carriers can also choose to show their First Aid and StructureSafe – the one-day health and safety training course run by MUTA – credentials.
