MyEvent.Vision 2016, a competition that aims to discover fresh talent and new events concepts, has launched today.
The competition is aimed at anyone with an idea for an event, and can cut across any sector, including business, food, fashion, sport, music and entertainment. The ideas can be anything from a week-long exhibition to a UK travelling roadshow, a weekend outdoor festival to a one-day experiential event.
Entrants have until spring 2016 to submit their event concepts. MyEvent.Vision has the support of Events International Group (EIG), part of TUI Group, and a number of event industry associations, including the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF) and the International Special Event Society UK (ISES UK).
The competition is also working closely with universities and students on event management courses.
Last year’s winner received a £5,000 cash prise, as well as a contract of employment and full support from EIG in developing their event idea and make it a reality.
“Last year, we had an amazing reaction to MyEvent.Vision and an inspirational winner with a concept we can’t wait to launch next year,” said EIG managing director Chad Lion-Cachet. “This year, we’re looking for something fresh and innovative that will flourish in the competitive world of events.
“This is a massive industry, covering a phenomenal range of sectors. We want ideas from everyone and for every type of event. If the idea is right, we’ll help bring it to life.”
