The O2 played host to the biggest names in British television for the National Television Awards (NTAs) last night (25 January).

Now, the iconic London venue has announced it will host the event for 2018.

2018 will be the ninth time the awards have taken place at The O2, with more than 11,000 guests attending this year’s event, including This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield, and stars from some of the year’s biggest programmes.

The venue is also due to hold the BRIT Awards in February.

For the NTAs, the team at The O2 installed a red carpet almost as long as a Boeing 747 at the venue’s VIP entrance and lit the stage with half a million lights held up by 48 tonnes of rigging.

Becci Thomson, head of corporate sales at The O2, commented: “We were delighted to once again host the National Television Awards at The O2. The NTAs are the biggest night of the year for the television industry and its stars, and the evening did not disappoint. The arena is the perfect space for such a prestigious awards ceremony—it provides a recognisable backdrop to the evening and matches the grandeur of the occasion.

“We have a great relationship with the NTAs team who continue to recognise The O2 as the ideal venue for this event—we are looking forward to working with them once again next year.”
