Access All AreasMusic Venue Trust’s annual Venues Day will take place this year on 18 October at London’s Roundhouse.
This year’s event will revolve around two themes: Localism & Community and Music Industry Partnerships.
Last year’s Venues Day took place at the Ministry of Sound and saw 400 delegates networking with representatives from leading music industry businesses, cultural organisations and advisors on issues such as accessing finance, insurance, licensing and legal issues. Speakers included Ed Vaizey MP, Michael Dugher MP, UK Music’s Jo Dipple, Joyce Wilson from Arts Council England and BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq.
A full line-up of panelists and partner organisations for this year’s event is expected in May.
“Venues Day is an important opportunity to bring together representatives from grassroots music venues across the UK and discuss the things that are important to them,” said MVT’s Beverley Whitrick. “Each year we aim to move the agenda forward, improving awareness of the issues and seeking solutions to the challenges. Working with an esteemed venue like Roundhouse will attract further key partners to join us in this work.”
Music Venue Trust seeks to preserve, secure and improve the UK’s network of small to medium-scale grassroots music venues.
