A champagne celebration was in order for Hawthorn at last week’s EVCOM Clarion Awards (26 September).

The company won the award for Sustainable Event Provider, for their work on the e-Luminate Festival 2013 in Cambridge.

Hawthorn’s Cambridge office collaborated with artist Suzie Olczak and LED manufacturer Pulsar on the event. Together, they came up with low-carbon, interactive sound and motion-triggered lighting experiences that demonstrated how to use sustainable production solutions.

The lit-up installation, which could be seen in and around Cambridge, achieved the required awareness of high efficiency LED lighting and its positive environmental potential.

“Hawthorn was keen to get involved with this project as it helps raise awareness for sustainable lighting solutions in unique and exciting ways for the local community,” said Hawthorn head of sales and marketing Rachel Waterfield. “This is a message that Hawthorn is always looking to champion through our brand values.”

Director of e-Luminate Alessandra Caggiano said that Hawthorn’s efforts, in collaboration with Olczak, “enabled the festival to demonstrate sustainability in the most creative and engaging ways.”
