Industry charity hikeathon Howard’s Way Walk returns

Event profs will participate in a charity hikeathon to raise money for pancreatic cancer charities on 3 June.
Howard's Way Walk was created in 2007 in memory of Howard Kerr, who died of pancreatic cancer that same year. This year's walk is in memory of both Kerry and Jim Harding, the former head of premium sales and hospitality at Arsenal Football Club, who passed away from the disease in 2015.
Last year's walk raised more than 17,000 for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund and Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Each year, 9,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, said Nick Grecian, managing director of Gallowglass and brother-in-law of Kerr. Of those, only three per cent survive five years. It has the lowest survival rate of all cancers.
I am so proud of what we have done so far with Howard's Way Walk to address earlier diagnosis and I know on Friday 3 June the event industry will help make a real difference.
The 2016 walk will see event professionals walking the 10 miles from Arsenal Football Club to Chelsea Football Club through some of London's parks and landmarks. Further details can be found at HowardsWayWalk.com.
