Johnnie Walker, an Official Partner of the 2014 Ryder Cup, is creating a brand immersion experience for next week’s tournament at Gleneagles (26-28 September).

Golf fans attending The Ryder Cup can book a tee-off time to play the bespoke Johnnie Walker Mini Golf Course, a four-hole game.

The course features ‘The Striding Man’ (pictured), a feature of one of the Mini Golf holes.

Players, media and invited guests are invited to sample a Johnnie & Ginger beverage a short walk away from the PGA Centenary Course.

Meanwhile, Johnnie Walker is planning to use the tournament to gain 25,000 signatures from visitors who will make a commitment to never drink and drive as part of its ‘Join the Pact’ initiative.

Johnnie Walker global brand director Guy Escolme said: “Whisky and golf are two of Scotland greatest gifts to the world and what better way to celebrate them than with a visit to our spectacular pop-up house and a thrilling game of Mini Golf?”

“The Johnnie Walker Mini Golf Course tells the story of how the whiskies of Johnnie Walker & Sons travelled from the four corners of Scotland to the four corners of the world in a fun and relaxed environment. Fans of whisky and golf who are attending this year’s Ryder Cup can book a tee-off time by signing up at johnniewalkerexp.eventbrite.com.”

Johnnie Walker was the first Scottish brand to gain Official Partner status for the 2014 Ryder Cup. The partnership builds on parent company Diageo’s long-standing association with The Ryder Cup, which stretches back to the 1980s.
