The Lee Valley VeloPark in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will see world-class cycling in December, for the first time since the London 2012 Games.

Biodiesel specialist Midas will provide power and distribution to the VeloPark for the UCI Track Cycling World Cup.

Manchester-based British Cycling tasked Lee Valley Regional Park Authority with finding a local contractor able to deliver a quality service and solutions to the challenges that come with working at a different venue.

“We will be using Midas for other winter activities and had no hesitation in recommending the company to British Cycling,” said Lee Valley RPA events manager Naomi Chant. “Their technical knowledge and extensive experience means there are always options and answers, not only for the power elements of a job, but how it works as part of the event as a whole.”

Midas will also supply power and distribution for the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, which Lee Valley VeloPark will host in February 2016, the most important track cycling event ahead of the Rio Games.
