G-Smatt, a manufacturer of smart glass products based in Korea, has established a European company to target the events and hospitality sector in the region.
The expansion follows on from recent success in the Far East for both its events and architectural media display solutions.
Headquartered in central Oxford, G-Smatt Europe is led by Orhan Ertughrul. The company will bring the benefits of its smart glass solution to both the events and marketing sector in addition to architectural and city planning audiences.
Ertughrul is joined in the senior management team by sales director Niraj Kapur, both supported by a team made of media design and event personnel.
Smart media displays
One of the products in G-Smatt portfolio is the media displays G-Trainer, a unit that can react to their environment. Based on a structure that is the same dimensions a standard shipping container, G-Tainer gives concert goers, exhibition guests or shoppers a unique media experience whilst also providing an attractive pop-up space for sales, VIP entertainment, news studios and many other uses.
Ertughrul, executive vice president G-SMATT Europe, explained: Our G-Tainer product is a combination of our smart glass and a steel container structure that allows companies and brands to communicate and interact with their audiences in a new and exciting way. The only limit is the clients' own imagination and creativity.
G-Tainer is available to hire with G-SMATT providing all the necessary support from transportation and installation through to development of appropriate media content.
The units can be installed individually or combined in a multiple container construction for a larger pavilion, ideal for hospitality or as a pop up' venue. Niraj Kapur told EN that first containers will be available later this summer.
Two examples of the glass media facade have been installed at the company's refurbished office at King Charles House, Park End Street, Oxford.
Launched in 2013, G-Smatt operates offices in five countries and has recorded annual turnover of about $125m (97.4m).
The company believes in the transformation of the digital cityscape with compelling architectural media and interactivity. Its original building grade, laminated media glass provides full transparency and rich media capability.
This allows developers and architects to provide a new way for people to experience and enjoy their buildings and the surrounding urban spaces without compromising on the aesthetic beauty of their original design.
In the new world of the Internet of Things it also allows for unparalleled connectivity and integration, a key in the development of the smart city. G-Smatt produces both architectural and exhibition products.
