O2 has launched a series of new virtual reality experiences where customers and fans can go head-to-head against the England rugby team.

The VR platforms will be compatible with the Samsung Gear VR for fans to be transported to various live experiences. This is the first time a combination of real-life 360 degrees video and CGI characters will be used.

“We really enjoyed working in partnership with O2 to develop this unique virtual-reality experience,” said England Rugby defence coach Paul Gustard.

Experiences will be available in 90 O2 stores, plus Twickenham on match days, The O2, and O2 Academy.

“It’s the only game out there that has had input from England Rugby to create a great experience for fans. I hope the experience gives rugby fans and novices alike an insight in to the way we train and the amount of hard work that is involved in being an International rugby player,” added Gustard.
