Powerful Thinking and the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF) have launched a fuel efficiency tool to allow festival organisers to check their energy performance in “less than a minute”.

The tool asks a series of questions and provides the user with an energy rating based on industry benchmarks provided by the Julies Bicycle Industry’s Green Tool.

The tool also provides carbon emissions attributable to fuel use, percentage of Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO) biodiesel compared to industry averages, a print-out of your results to share with staff, and links to information about how to reduce fuel use and costs.

“It takes literally a few moments to find out how efficient your fuel use is compared to the industry averages,” said Shambala Festival director and Powerful Thinking chair Chris Johnson. “It’s easy, free, and will likely lead to conversations about cost savings and reducing emissions – it’s a win win.”
