Queen’s Award For Stage One

Stage One, manufacturer of the London 2012 Olympic Cauldron, was presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise this month, in the Continuous Innovation category.

Lord Crathorne, Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, presented the award at the company’s manufacturing centre in Tockwith. The Mayor of Harrogate, Michael Newby, and Piers Shepperd, technical director for the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, were in the audience.

“We’re delighted to win Britain’s most prestigious business award,” 
Stage One CEO, Mark Johnson, said. “It’s a testament to the creative
talent, energy and hard work of our skilled team of craftsmen,
designers, engineers, technologists and artists.”
