Fatboy Slim, De La Soul and Clean Bandit are among the acts announced for Bestival founder Rob Da Bank’s Common People festival.

The line-up for the Saturday will include:
  • De La Soul
  • Jaguar Skills
  • George the Poet
  • Plastic Mermaids
  • Battle of the Bands winner
  • Funky Little Choir
  • Mr Motivator
DJs include Dusky, Huxley and Dense & Pika.

Sunday’s special guest will be announced soon, but the line-up for the day will include
  • Clean Bandit
  • Band of Skulls
  • Kitty, Daisy & Lewis
  • Slaves
  • DJ Yoda
  • The Cuban Brothers
  • Craig Charles
  • West End Kids
DJs include Derrick Carter, Rob da Bank and Friend Within.

Elsewhere, ‘immersive Bestival antics’ will occur, as well as bespoke venues, cocktails and street food, daytime family-orientated activities and more.

Common People will take place in Southampton, on the Bank Holiday weekend of 23-24 May. It is billed as a two-day metropolitan festival, bringing the blithe spirit of Bestival to the South coast.

Common People curator Rob da Bank said: “I’m delighted to announce that we are launching a new festival in Southampton next year, our first new venture since we started Camp Bestival seven years ago. We have been inundated with offers to start new festivals every year but it wasn’t until we found the beautiful site of the Common that we felt it was right to start a new chapter in Bestival’s history.

“This isn’t a camping show, it’s not a tents, wellies and car packed to the rafters experience… it’s a metropolitan two day show easy to access and open to all ages, compact but packed with experiences and priced very, very reasonably. We can’t wait to unveil our headliners and star cast for our first Common People show in May. Watch this space.”
