Long time Robbie Williams collaborators XL Video have just finished working on the star’s ‘Swing Both Ways’ tour.

The tour saw the star put a spotlight on his vocals and performance, with simple visuals and no distracting stunts.

XL oversaw the technical aspects for tour’s stage set and visuals, working alongside production manager Steve Iredale and live camera director Jon Shrimpton.

Equipment such as LED walls and screens – bespoke-made by XL – as well as Barco projectors, Bradley controllers, and Grass Valley mixers and switchers brought Robbie’s show to life.

Shrimpton also used nine cameras provided by XL to create his live video set pieces, which presented the Angels singer in simple and glamourously lit shots.

“It was a very grown-up tour,” Shrimpton said, “with some serious talent and very experienced and well-respected industry names onboard, which is great.

“Working with XL has, as always, been a great experience,” he added.

The ‘Swing Both Ways’ tour made its way through the UK and Europe in June and July. Robbie – as well as his crew – now have a breather before continuing the tour in Australia in September.
