VisitScotland Business Events has announced INNOVATEROBOTICS, a series of talks examining the future of computer-human interaction.

The event, part of the INNOVATETHENATION programme, will gather people from across the business, events and academia spectrum.

Up for discussion will be how Scotland and wider business and events community can tap into robotics’ estimated annual worldwide economic impact of up to $4.5 trillion (approx. £3.6 trillion).

Speakers at the event include Dr Kasim Terzic, teaching fellow at the University of St Andrews, School of Computer Science; Dr Phillip Anderson, head of marine technology at the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS); and Dr Oli Mival of Edinburgh Napier University and originator of ICE and Sensorium Studio.

“Robotics is an exciting sector for Scotland, showcasing our innovation centres and excellence in research and manufacture,” said Rory Archibald, business development manager, VisitScotland Business Events. “INNOVATEROBOTICS will shine a light on some of the outstanding developments being pioneered here in Scotland, both in our labs and in our seas.

“Our INNOVATETHENATION programme provides an opportunity for local experts and industry champions to network for future collaboration, to help bring the best business events to Scotland and boost its profile on the world stage.”
INNOVATEROBOTICS takes place at the Fairmont, St Andrews on 16 February.
