Event crewing specialist Showforce provided over 200 crew shifts over three weeks for Red Bull Air Race.

The race, which was held a Ascot Racecourse on 13-14 August, saw a range of lightweight planes flying over more than 40,000 spectators at speeds of up to 230mph.

Showforce was onsite from 2 to 18 August assisting in the construction of the temporary hangers used to house the aircraft. The crew also installed inflatable course markers and provided support for AV provider Riedel.

Chris Martelly, Showforce’s operations director, commented: “This is a great event to be involved in – there are large numbers of crew onsite, carrying out a variety of tasks. They work directly with the Red Bull Air Race’s organising team, at every stage of the build, race and de-rig, to ensure that all aspects of the event run smoothly.”
