Showsec awarded three-year contract at Bloodstock Open Air Festival

Crowd management, venue and event security specialist Showsec has been awarded a three-year contract to play a key role at Derbyshire’s Bloodstock Open Air Festival.

This year’s festival will be the 5th year that Showsec has provided its services at the event.

The heavy metal festival has seen strong growth year-on-year, winning Best Medium Sized Festival at the UK Festival Awards in 2012, and claimed a similar accolade at the 2013 Live UK Music Awards.

“We are delighted to be offered this chance to play our part in a continuation of Bloodstock’s success story,” said Showsec’s East Midlands area manager Joe Milner. “We have specifically selected our staff from offices around the UK for their skills and experience in working such a unique festival environment.”

Vicky Hungerford, one of the family members who are directors of the festival, added: “We are totally committed to the safety of our audience, artists and crew, and Showsec bring a lot of experience in crowd management and security techniques to help us achieve that.”

Showsec recently announced the restructure of its London operation.
