Hertfordshire-based creative event agency Smyle made the decision this year not to enter any industry awards and instead put its full efforts behind a project called ‘The Wings for Life Forumla One Challenge 2014’.

The agency, which won 10 awards in its 10th anniversary year, 2013, competed against six other companies this year to raise the most money for the charity, Wings for Life.

The charity funds research projects and clinical trials across the globe, aimed at accelerating progress towards a cure for spinal cord injury.

The challenge was launched in February 2014 and ran for 10 months, ending on 28 November.

Smyle raised £15,000, over £400 per employee and the agency undertook team and individual challenges including swimming 500m, baking 432 cakes, running 263km, cycling 63km, painting 37 faces, wearing nine silly outfits and undertaking five ice bucket challenges.

The agency’s charity page will remain open until January. To donate, visit: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/SmyleChallenge2014
