Snowdonia Outdoor Festival, the outdoor adventure sports and live music festival, which was set to debut this year at the National Park on 11–13 August has been cancelled because of low ticket demands.

The sports festival was expected to pump £1m into the local economy in Wales, with musical guests set to include The lightning Seeds and Scouting for Girls.

The event organiser released the following statement: “We are very disappointed to announce the cancellation of the Snowdonia Outdoor Festival. We have worked incredibly hard to design a fabulous event, which does justice to the beauty of the Snowdonia National Park, but very low ticket demand means we cannot deliver the show that the area and you deserve. We are extremely sorry to make this decision but we would not wish to hold an event, which was not fantastic in every way. As the event is cancelled we will be offering a full refund to all ticket holders and you will receive the monies in your bank account within the next five working days. We would like to thank everyone who supported the festival and again we are sorry that we aren’t bringing the plans into reality. Team SOF.”
