Stageco supplied staging and other temporary structures to Swiss radio station NRJ’s second Energy Air concert earlier this month (5 September), held at Berne’s Stade de Suisse.

The event attracted 40,000 fans, with a five hour line-up including included Robin Thicke, Hurts, Kygo and Remady & Manu-L, along with 14 other Swiss and international acts.

Stageco operations director Tom Bilsen worked closely with technical production coordinator Marco Güntensperger (Bullitt Productions), to manage the staging and structures. This was Stageco’s second time working in the Stade de Suisse, after playing a role at last summer’s Energy Air concert.

This year, the supplier built a four-tower roof for the stage, with an additional fifth tower reinforcing it with a super-truss to help increase the rigging capacity. Stageco also built two delay towers, a B-stage with an integrated elevator and catwalk, and a 24m x 14m VIP platform in the grandstand – built using the company’s scaffolding system.

Stageco also supplied set decorations, including 17 blue discs.

“It was great to work with Marco on such an impressive event,” Bilsen said. “This was a slightly unusual job for us in that after we build our structures, we normally hand them over in a bare state to production so that other companies can complete the decoration, but on this we pretty much finished the whole thing.”
