Star Events rounded off its re- brand launch at Event Production Show (EPS) by signing a service partner contract with sports specialist Footwise UK, under its Brazilian Minds in Fusion banner.

The deal provides Star Events – which recently rebranded – with high-level representation and experience in Brazil and gives Minds in Fusion access to Star’s logistical and technical abilities, and equipment, ahead of the Rio Olympics in 2016.

Minds in Fusion produced the Official Promotional Plan for the 2014 World Cup on behalf of the Brazilian Government. Football legend Cafu, Brazil’s most capped player, is the company’s Global Ambassador and Minds has worked with his foundation in Sao Paulo since 1999.

Roger Barrett, Star Events’ special projects director (pictured right), and Dominic Barrett-Evans, founding partner at Minds in Fusion, negotiated Heads of Terms on a UKTI trade mission to Rio at the end of 2014.

“The partnership means we can provide a unique platform of our Brazilian World Cup expertise and Star Events’ acclaimed input to London 2012, Sochi 2014 and Glasgow 2014, ahead of the Rio Games next year,” said Barrett- Evans.

Star Events had its biggest presence yet at Event Production Show, its 10x7m white stand highlighting the company’s new identity. Hidden engineering at the heart

of the structure meant three of the supporting legs could be removed,

so it appeared to be almost floating. Barrett, Steve Riches, health and safety manager, and head of structures Pete Holdich took part in the exhibition’s seminar set, Barrett as a panellist on the main stage, Riches and Holdich discussing emergency planning and responsibility at event sites, respectively.
