Event safety management company Symphotech looked after health and safety for the Vevo Halloween event at Liverpool’s Bramley-Moore Dock on 29 October.

More than 3,000 people attended the event, which had a theme of ‘phobias’ and saw performances from Jack Garrett, Izzy Bizu and Blossoms.

Symphotech were responsible for the safety of visitors on the 12,000sqm site, including constructing a full safety plan and fire risk assessment and liaising with the local council.

Symphotech director Julian Spear commented: “Vevo took a very professional approach in delivering this Halloween event which made it a pleasure to work on.

“The main challenge of this event was that the chosen venue was an old warehouse on the docks, which was perfect for the event; however it is still used as an existing timber store. The show was built into one of the three sheds but the timber yard was still operational until show day.

“The amount of timber stored on site presented major concerns for the fire department and a great deal of work had to be done on fire control systems in order to satisfy their concerns.”
