The Co-Operative Bank, the headline sponsor of Manchester’s Great CityGames, has partnered with myclever Agency to broadcast the games live online.

The games took place on 20 May and saw top athletes from around the world compete in an urban environment.

The live stream was broadcast on the bank’s Facebook page and was watched by more than 20,000 people.

Myclever captured events on Deansgate and Albert Square throughout the evening, coordinating simultaneous live video footage from the two main games locations in the city centre. The live stream was interspersed with pre-recorded interviews featuring athletes like Olympic long jump gold medallist, Greg Rutherford, and Rio 2016 Olympics hopeful, 100m runner Trayvon Bromell.

Abi Atkinson, senior video producer at myclever Agency, explained: “We created a broadcast-quality streaming experience so Facebook fans of The Co-operative Bank could get an alternative view of the games. By coordinating simultaneous streams via Wirecast, we created a fun, dynamic way of interacting with a live environment, which hasn’t really been done before.”
