The annual Skate at Somerset House is preparing to open in London on 11 November – just one of many winter and Christmas-themed events now popping up around the capital.

The Technical Department Ltd will be supplying temporary power solutions to Somerset House’s ice skating rink for the twelfth consecutive season.

Utilising their bespoke electrical distribution system, The Technical Department runs cable from the basement of the historic 18th century buildings to distribute and supply power to the courtyard, where the open-air ice rink is set in the midst of the stunning architecture.

“Having worked with The Technical Department over 10 years, their kit and knowledge is second to none,” said Somerset House production manager Jon Howes. 

Skate at Somerset House runs from 11 November to 11 January, with tickets on sale now.
