MCM Central, organiser of MCM Comic Cons, has announced the acquisition of annual celebration of online video and the community, UK YouTube festival Summer in the City.

“The show fits perfectly into our market position as the UK’s leading popular culture events company and we look forward to working with co-founders/directors Dave Bullas and Tom Burns, building on their already incredible event to take Summer in the City to even greater heightsm” said Bryan Cooney, MCM managing director.

Founded in 2009, the ExCeL London show features panels, live performances and special guest meet-and-greets, attracting content creators, their viewers and the wider entertainment industry.

This year’s Summer in the City will take place on 12-14 August.
